One Voice is the proud recipient of two grants from the Charlotte Lesbian & Gay Fund and one from Charlotte’s Arts & Science Council for our 2014/15 concert season. These funds will help us with mount a 25th-anniversary concert season to remember!
Jan/Feb 2014 | When it comes to the organized LGBTQ-community in Charlotte, Jenni Gaisbauer sees all . . . or at least a good bit of it.
Gaisbauer has been part of the Charlotte Lesbian and Gay Fund (CLGF) for five years and is in year two as Chairperson of its Board of Advisers. During this time, she’s watched the fund grow and the interests of its stakeholders evolve. She’s also seen half a decade’s worth of grant applications from the area’s LGBTQ organizations, detailing their hopes, plans and special projects.
Jan/Feb 2014 | As usual, the holiday season was a busy time for outreach performances around town. In December, One Voice and our ensemble, Sotto Voce, performed seven of these “run out” engagements, bringing holiday cheer and an LGBTQ-affirming face and voice to local nonprofit organizations, community events, businesses and several assisted living and hospice communities. Here’s a look at two of those engagements.
December 2013 | This year’s holiday offering from One Voice-the Naughty & Nice concert-definitely delivered on both counts! Featuring both traditional and not-so-traditional Christmas fare, the performance touched audience members’ hearts and funny bones.
