SUMMARY:Musicking Flash Choir
DESCRIPTION:Musicking Flash Choir harnesses the power of singing in community to bring people together. Attendees will spend three hours learning a four-part vocal arrangement\, co-creating a musical sound and generating shared meaning of the music. Musicking facilitates a playful and inclusive environment in which singers at all levels get to vocalize\, create harmonies\, and express their artistic side. This event is created by and for LGBTQ+ individuals and is a welcoming space for allies. It is hosted by Alexx Baerwald Simard and Dr. Cory Davis of One Voice Chorus of Charlotte. \n\n\n\nAlexx Baerwald Simard (they/she) is a Charlotte-based LGBTQ+ community organizer and interdisciplinary artist. They steward recurring events\, including the Big Gay Picnic and UltraViolet Sapphic Dance Party\, with a focus on fostering generative and vibrant spaces for LGBTQ+ individuals to connect with one another. \n\n\n\nCory Davis (he/they) is the Artistic Director of One Voice Chorus in Charlotte\, NC. He holds a DMA in Choral Conducting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro\, MM from Temple University\, and a BA from George Washington University. He was previously Assistant Conductor of Voices Chorale New Jersey\, Music Director of the Gaithersburg Chorus\, Development Associate at Project HOME\, and Development Operations Manager at Chorus America. \n\n\n\n\nRegister Here!
